BRIEF
Create music event poster for New Years Eve in a major city.
CONCEPT
I selected my home town Hobart as the capital city for the New Years Eve NYE music event as its always has a great celebratory and party atmosphere down at the harbours with all the yachts post the Sydney Harbour Yacht Race. It attracts revellers from all round the country. It is much smaller and family friendly than the events in Sydney Harbour on NYE which makes it ideal for an underage music event. As such, I created an black and white line 3D illustration of the harbour at Constitution Dock looking upwards from the water up to the towering shadow of Mt Wellington drawing the viewer eye to the sky and the NYE fireworks. Black and white was chosen as the music festival is at night showing the white lights of the city. The alternate concept shows a 2D birds eye view of the Hobart city and surrounds showing the target audience and perspective from the sky where the fireworks begin. The compass and map reference 42 degrees South shows the place where the event will be on the waterfront at the harbour.
