Project Overview
CLIENT
Self Initiated Project
BRIEF
Produce artistic works for local art show / competition
CONCEPT
Creating hand drawings using white pencil and ink on black card or board with line of washed up creatures and object showcases my signature style. It evolved unknowingly from drawing therapy to help cure insomnia developing a style of doodling and line drawing of the beach in my home town. Drawing is a great form of relaxation for the mind with incredible power to disconnect one from the bustle of every day life. Coupled with an actual walk by the sea and beach combing, I have the perfect formula for relaxation, inspiration and creativity.
One of the greatest small joys in my new life is being able to walk on the beach with bare feet every day and discovering the most unexpected things. One of favourite finds are sea urchins with their delicate and detailed pattern / repetition of dots and holes arranged in perfect pentagon symmetry.
